Issue plan 2025

Serbian Law on postal services (art. 74) provides that in the current year, Minister responsible for postal services shall establish a plan for the issuance of commemorative postage stamps, as well as the motives for regular issues of postage stamps to be issued in the coming year.

According to official plan, in 2025 we can expect these commemorative issues:

1. Traditions of China: Chinese zodiac – Year of the Snake;

2. Serbia - USA: 100 years since the birth of Douglas Engelbart;

3. State-building path of Serbia 

    - 210 years since the Takovo Meeting - beginning of the Second Serbian Uprising 

    and 190 years since the Sretenje Constitution (1835 Constitution of Serbia, the first               Serbian constitution);

4. European nature protection

    - 150 years since dicovering Picea omorika (Pančić/Serbian spruce),

    - 150 years of rational beekeeping in Serbia;

5. The Military Academy Day - 175 years of military education in Serbia;

6. Easter;

7. 180 years of Serbian reading room „Laza Kostić” in Sombor;

8. The escape from the Jasenovac concetration camp;

9. Serbia - Russia: 100 years since the first performance of the "Swan Lake" ballet in Serbia;

10. Europa 2025 - National archelogical discoveries;

11. Victory day in the Second World War - 80 years of victory over facism;

12. Stamp day - 125 years since the birth of Siniša Ostojić, doyen of Serbian philately;

13. Protected animal species - 75 years of the Palić Zoo;

14. 185 years of the Post of Serbia;

15. 125 years since Serbian participation on Exposition Universelle (World's fair in Paris, 1900);

16. 150 years since Nevesinjska puška ('Rifle of Nevesinje' - conflict between Serbs and Ottomans that was the beginning of the Herzegovina Uprising against Ottomans);

17. Danube Day - 200 years since the birth of Johann Strauss II, as composer of the work "The Blue Danube";

18. Serbia - Switzerland: 150 years since the birth of Rodolphe Archibald Reiss;

19. 1700 years since the First Council of Nicaea;

20. Prominent Serbs

    - 200 years since birth of writer Đura Daničić,

    - 150 years since the birth of physicist and mathematician Mileva Marić Einstein,

    - 100 years since the birth of artist Stojan Ćelić,

    - 100 years since the birth of philosopher Mihailo Đurić;

21. Joy of Europe;

22. Joint issue Serbia–Indonesia;

23. 80 years of the United Nations;

24. Friends of Serbia - the issue shall depict traditional clothing and cultural connections with a few European countries that support Serbia: Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia, Greece and Romania;

25. Museum exibits

    - 75 years of the Museum of Applied Art in Belgrade,

    - 75 years of the Railway Museum in Belgrde;

26. Institutions of Serbia - 75 years of the Institute for Healthcare of Mother and Child of Serbia "Dr. Vukan Čupić";

27. Slava - Celebration of Family Saint Patron's Day;

28. Art

    - 100 years since the birth of Zuzana Chalupova,

    - 100 years since the birth of Janika Balasz;

29. Christmas;

30. Women rulers from the Nemanjić dynasty - prominent wifes of Serbian medieval rulers:

- Ana (Vukanović) Nemanjić, wife of Stefan Nemanja,

- Ana (Dandolo) Nemanjić, wife of King Stefan Prvovenčani,

- Jelena Nemanjić, wife of King Uroš I,

- Simonida Nemanjić, wife of King Milutin,

- Marija (Paleolog) Nemanjić, wife of King Stefan Dečanski,

- Jelena (Stacimirović) Nemanjić, wife of King Dušan the Mighty.

The issue plan containes sketches of definitives that could be issued during the year. Comparing to the previous years, two designs are not shown (St. John's Wort /Hypericum perforatum/ and Cherry /Prunus avium/). The rest of the designs remained the same as in 2024.
