Issue plan 2024

Serbian Law on postal services (art. 74) provides that in the current year, Minister responsible for postal services shall establish a plan for the issuance of commemorative postage stamps, as well as the motives for regular issues of postage stamps to be issued in the coming year.

According to official plan, in 2024 we can expect these commemorative issues:

At first, the issue plan contained sketches of definitives that could be issued during the year, and those designs were used in previos years, so according to the plan, there was not supposed to be new designs.

But, in March 2024 the Plan was revised. Old sketches were all deleted and new sketches are added. New definitive stamps are about promotion of EXPO 2027 which will take place in Belgrade. Sketches are created by using desings of Yugoslavian issue EXPO 1967 Canada. Designs are about space exploration as symbol of new techonologies, ideas and future. All stamps will have inscript 'EXPO 2027 Belgrade Serbia' and also the name Petar Jakelić, who was the designer of Yugoslavian EXPO 1967 stamps. Stamps will not have numbers in dinars (RSD) as face value, but letters and that will be letters E, X, P, O, B, G, so they create the acronym EXPO BG (shorter for EXPO Belgrade). ✅ 11/Apr/2024
