Prominent Serbs definitives (2014-2019)

In this perod were issued regular stamps with portraits of some prominent Serbs. Some of these stamps were reissued, always with different year printed at the bottom.

Živojin Mišić (1855-1921) (8 RSD). The most decorated Serbian field marshal in Serbian military history. He participated all Serbian wars from 1976 to 1918. He commanded Serbian army in the Battle of Kolubara and break of Macedonian front in the First World War.


Radomir Putnik (1847-1917) (10 RSD). Serbian field marshal who participated all Serbian wars from 1976 to his death. He was one of the most important Serbian miitary leaders in the First World War.

Mileva Marić Einstein (1875-1948) (23 RSD). She was Serbain physicist and mathematicican and the second woman who finished that study programme at ETH Zurich. She was the first wife of Albert Einstain and they had three children. She is considered to be the first Serbian scientist.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) (23 RSD). The gratest Serb of all times, genius who created modern electricity supply system. He is the only Serb that one SI measurment in named after (tesla (t) as measurment for magnetic flux density).

Miloš Obrenović (1780-1860) (35 RSD). The leader of the Second Serbian Uprising and the first Serbian ruler in modern Serbian history. As prince, he ruled Serbia in two periods (1815-1839 and 1858-1860). He provided Serbia to be autonomous principality under Ottoman Empire. He was founder of the House of Obrenović.

Milutin Milanković (1879-1958) (35 RSD). Serbian mathematician, astronomer, climatologist, geophysicist and civil engeneer - one of the greatest Serbian minds. He researched process of climate changes in all planets of Solar system and he explained ice ages cycles on Earth (Milanković cycles).

Milunka Savić (1890-1973) (46 RSD). Serbian war heroine who fought in Balkan Wars and the First World War. She was the most decorated Serbian female combatant in Serbian military history. The French people called her "Serbian Jeanne d'Arc".

Nadežda Petrović (1873-1915) (50 RSD). One of the most important Serbian painters and one of the pioneers of photograpy in Serbia. She is considered to be Serbian most important expressionist and fauvist. She was a nurse during the First World War and died of typhus epidemic.

Mihajlo Pupin (1854-1935) (100 RSD). Serbian physicist and one of the most important Serbian scientists. He worked in USA, where he created many patents, but he is the most known for his researches in telephone communication.
